A humorous video from Villarreal CF’s announcement of striker Tani Oluwaseyi’s signing last August has gone viral once again, Soccernet.ng reports.
A post from the transfer news account DeadlineDayLive highlighted the La Liga club's creative, light-hearted approach to introducing the Canadian international, who is eligible to represent Nigeria.
The video shows Villarreal's stadium announcer struggling to pronounce Oluwaseyi's full name—Tanitoluwa Oluwatimilehin Oluwaseyi—before calling for a “run it back” to retry.

The moment culminates with Oluwaseyi himself stepping in to deliver the correct pronunciation, all set against the iconic yellow backdrop of Estadio de la Cerámica.
The tweet, captioned “Run it back is how Villarreal announced the signing of their new player Tanitoluwa Oluwatimilehin Oluwaseyi back in September”, has garnered a wave of reactions from football fans.

MLS Star to La Liga's Villarreal
Oluwaseyi, 25, joined Villarreal from Minnesota United on August 29, 2025, in a deal reportedly worth €8 million ($8.7 million), a record transfer fee for the MLS side.
He signed a five-year contract running through June 2030. During his time in MLS, the forward scored 18 goals and provided 14 assists, performances that earned him a spot in the Canadian national team.

Since moving to Spain, Oluwaseyi has already made an impact, scoring his first La Liga goal in a 1-0 victory over Sevilla on September 23, 2025.
Is he eligible to play for Nigeria?
Tani Oluwaseyi was born in Nigeria and was initially eligible to represent both Nigeria and Canada at the international level.
However, his international future is now settled with the Canada national team, after he featured at the 2024 Copa América, an official senior competition.

Oluwaseyi became cap-tied to Canada when he appeared in their 1–0 win over Peru, meaning he is no longer eligible to play for the Super Eagles despite his Nigerian birth.
