Turkish Super Lig leaders Galatasaray suffered physical and mental losses in their 0-4 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League last night, Soccernet.ng reports.
Mario Lemina's first-leg goal, assisted by Victor Osimhen, gave Okan Buruk's side a little cushion heading into the away leg in Merseyside, but it all dipped very quickly.
The initial mental defeat came seven minutes into the game after the Nigerian striker clashed with Ibrahim Konate, fracturing his right arm.
The injury limited his motion and his impact on the game overall, as Galatasaray were toothless in attack without their starman.

Galatasaray: Noa Lang, Osimhen set for surgery after Liverpool headache
Osimhen was taken off at half-time after the swelling in his right arm continued, replaced by Leroy Sane. Noa Lang also came on for the second half, but endured a torrid night as he split his finger.
As revealed by Goal, Lang was stretchered off following a violent collision with the advertising hoardings.
The 26-year-old required oxygen on the pitch before being transported to a local medical facility for what the club described as a “serious cut” to his right thumb.

“In the first half of our UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg match against Liverpool, our player Victor Osimhen sustained a blow to his arm.
“Although he completed the first half, checks at half-time revealed a risk of fracture, and he was not allowed to play in the second half.
“Following the match, a medical examination at the hospital confirmed a fracture in his right forearm, and a cast was applied.
“A decision regarding surgery will be made in the coming days after further assessment,” the club announced.

Osimhen, meanwhile, is believed to want to travel to Nigeria for a short break before deciding on when he'll have the surgery on his arm.
Regarding Noa Lang, he was rushed to a hospital in Liverpool last night and will undergo surgery in England to aid the recovery of the thumb injury he suffered.
“In the second half of the same match, our player Noa Lang suffered a serious cut to his right thumb. He is scheduled to undergo surgery in Liverpool in the coming hours, with our medical team present.”

Liverpool's win ended Galatasaray's UEFA Champions League campaign, but the biggest damage was the injury suffered by two of the most influential players for the Turkish club this season.
