Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has called time on his stay at South African Premier League club Chippa United after four years.
Nwabali joined the PSL side from Katsina United in 2022 and rapidly rose to a leadership role. The 28-year-old shot-stopper became an integral part of the squad, eventually earning the captain’s armband.
His consistent performances in South Africa earned him a recall to the Super Eagles, where he seized the opportunity to become Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper, displacing the likes of Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye.

Consequently, Nwabali has been frequently linked with moves both within South Africa and abroad.
Over the last two years, clubs such as Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Hull City, and a few others have been credited with an interest. Despite various rumors, nothing concrete materialized, yet Nwabali remained professional and never forced a move.

However, news broke on Thursday that the goalkeeper has left Chippa United by mutual consent, bringing his four-year stint to an end.
Where Is Stanley Nwabali Headed?
As of now, Stanley Nwabali’s next destination remains unclear, as he has yet to officially announce his new club.

Speculation suggests a move to another African giant or a team in the Middle East. Most recently, Tanzanian powerhouse Simba SC have shown interest, though it would likely require a significant financial package to convince Nigeria's number one to move to the NBC Premier League.

North Africa appears to be a more probable destination, as Raja Casablanca was reportedly in the mix just a few weeks ago.
Ultimately, Nwabali is expected to prioritize a project that offers both a competitive salary and guaranteed playing time.
The Super Eagles star is expected to finalize his future and put the uncertainty to rest in the coming days.
