Former Ghana coach Claude Le Roy has raised doubts over the quality of Super Eagles attackers ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria will be looking to claim a fourth AFCON title in Morocco next month. But it won't be an easy task.
They are definitely one of the favourites, but there are other brilliant teams eyeing the title, including the hosts.

Going into the tournament, the Super Eagles are under pressure, as they have been very inconsistent in recent years.
They were silver medallists in the last edition of the competition, but that now seems like a distant memory.
Nigeria enters AFCON 2025 on the back of an unsuccessful 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
After an embarrassing qualifying stage that saw them finish second in a group that had South Africa, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, and Benin, they managed to sneak into the continental playoffs. Still, they failed to capitalize, as they lost the final against DR Congo.

Due to their failure in the World Cup Qualifiers, the team has to do really well at AFCON 2025 so they can give the fans something to cheer about.
However, former Ghana coach, Claude, is quite skeptical about the team's chances.
What Claude Le Roy Said About Super Eagles' Attack Ahead of AFCON 2025
Claude Le Roy is no stranger to football in Africa, having coached teams like DR Congo, Ghana, Congo, Senegal, and Cameroon.

He even won the AFCON with Cameroon in 1988. But ahead of the 2025 AFCON, he has questioned the quality of the Super Eagles' forward line.
Nigeria boasts some of the best attackers on the continent like Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, and Paul Onuachu, but the team has always struggled to score goals. Coach Claude has doubts that the team will improve at the 2025 AFCON.
“You don't qualify for the World Cup and you are Nigeria. I'm not impressed by the statistics of 20 goals in 12 matches with the offensive potential they have,” Claude said, per Daily Sports.
“Even some of the goals were against irresistible teams like Benin and Gabon so we need to put things into perspective.”
The good thing for coach Eric Chelle and the Super Eagles going into the 2025 AFCON is that some of the attackers are in good form. With the tournament barely two weeks away, it is a big plus.

However, it always seems like the players drop a notch whenever they don the green and white.
Nonetheless, the millions of Super Eagles fans will hope that the team proves doubters like Claude De Roy wrong eventually.
