Chukwueze delighted with life at Fulham – Is a permanent move on the cards?

Fulham and Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has revealed his delight with the way he's gotten off to a good start at the Craven Cottage, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old was a deadline day loan recruit from AC Milan, but injury problems saw him limited to very few minutes, considering he had to represent Nigeria on International duty three times.

However, the one-time FIFA U-17 World Cup winner has found his creative feet again of late, and has four goal contributions in his last three games for Marco Silva's side, including a brace against Manchester City.

Chukwueze delighted with Fulham start

The former Villareal man filled the headlines after his brace on Erling Haaland's Premier League centurion goal marker.

Still, he's delighted to have found his scoring touch again and thanked Fulham's coach for pushing him to be a better footballer.

“I think I'm happy, very happy about the form I'm in and everything,” the one-time UEFA Europa League winner said in an interview on Fulham's official website.

“I think the most important thing is the coach who's been pushing me more to work hard and remain focused, no matter the impact on the game.

“Every game is a new game, whether or not I get assists, I just have to keep my feet ready, whether ten or twenty minutes, I have to be ready to give everything.

Furthermore, Chukwueze was left stunned by the atmosphere of the fans at Craven Cottage in their loss to Manchester City.

“The Fulham fans are amazing. I love them as they love me, and sometimes I think I love them more than they love me.

“Because it was amazing for them to stay from 5-1 to 5-4, till the last minute of the game, makes us want to give more.

“I think they deserve more love, more wins, and they deserve to be at the top.

“They kept singing, they kept pushing us, kept screaming, they're one of the craziest fans I've seen. They're good, and I like them.

Is a permanent move on the cards?

While Fulham do not have the obligation to make the move permanent, the option was included in Chukwueze's deal, and the Cottagers can fully secure the services of the fleet-footed winger for £24m, according to the BBC.

Chukwueze's current numbers and the love Fulham fans have for him might currently point to the club deciding to embark on a permanent purchase, but it banks on several factors.

The Nigerian forward would have to keep his form going, and in little time, as he'll be leaving for the AFCON 2025 tournament next week, and could potentially be out until the latter days of January 2026 if the Super Eagles make it to the final of the competition in Morocco.

Fulham's Marco Silva has already complained that he'll be missing three crucial players for almost two months due to the AFCON tournament.

Ultimately, for the move to happen, Chukwueze would have to hit the ground running from February till the end of the 2025/2026 Premier League season.
