Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey scored his first goal of the season in Fulham's 3-2 win over Burnley ahead of the AFCON 2025 tournament, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old last found the back of the net in Fulham's FA Cup win over Manchester United at Old Trafford in March.
Fulham travelled to Turf Moor on the back of two consecutive losses in the league (Manchester City and Crystal Palace), which saw them drop closer into the relegation zone.

How Fulham played against Burnley
Former Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe broke the deadlock after nine minutes for the Cottagers. A low cross from an in-form Harry Wilson found the Englishman in the box, and he tapped the ball beyond Martin Dubravka.
Prior to the clash this evening, Burnley had gone six games without a win, losing every one of those games. However, Lesley Ugochukwu dragged the Clarets into the game in the 21st minute.
The Frenchman capitalised on Antonee Robinson's poor positioning, latching onto Josh Collen's pass to put the ball past Bernd Leno to level the scores.

The home side's lead didn't last long. An unusually poor delivery from a corner kick by Harry Wilson saw Scott Parker's side clear the ball out of the box.
However, the ball fell kindly to Robinson, who immediately chipped the ball into Wilson's path after the Welshman made a brilliant run.
Wilson took a touch before sending another cross into the six-yard box this time, and Bassey tapped home with little to no hassle.

Marco Silva's side put the third into the back of the net after Samuel Chukwueze's cutback found an in-form Wilson in the box.

The former Liverpool midfielder cut onto his left foot before making the net bulge in the 58th minute.
Still, Burnley tried to grow back into the game. Lesley Ugochukwu's half volley stung Bernd Leno's palms.
In a bid to shore up his defence and secure Fulham's second away win of the season, Marco Silva took Alex Iwobi and Raul Jimenez off, bringing Timothy Castagne and Adama Traore on in their place.
However, Burnley were able to pull one back in the 86th minute. A cross from Quilindschy Hartman was flicked on by Bassey, but the ball fell kindly to Oliver Sonne.
The Peruvian chested the deflection and cushioned the ball into the bottom corner of Bernd Leno's goal. Fulham held on for the remainder of the game before referee Michael Oliver blew the final whistle.

Fulham's win against Burnley at Turf Moor tonight was their first in 74 years across a run of 34 games. Prior to the fixture today, the Cottagers' last win at Turf Moor came in April 1951.

Burnley have now lost seven consecutive Premier League games, and could equal a 130-year record if they lose to AFC Bournemouth next weekend.
