Sevilla and Super Eagles striker Akor Adams was delighted to have returned to scoring ways just before the AFCON 2025 tournament, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old's last goal for Los Rojiblancos came on the 5th of October against Barcelona.
Since then, it took him another nine games to find the back of the net for Sevilla again, although he scored for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in between.

However, it took Adams just four minutes into the game at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán. Lucien Agoumé played the ex-Montpellier attacker through on goal, and Akor Adams did not waste time putting the ball into the back of the net.

That wasn't all from Adams. The ex-Sogndal forward provided the assist for Batista Mendy's goal with a brilliant backheel in the second half before Chidera Ejuke completed the rout in the 89th minute.

Akor Adams delighted after scoring for Sevilla
The goal against Real Oviedo was timely for the Super Eagles star, who will be representing the three-time African Champions at the AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.
Lucien Agoumé set up the first goal for Adams, and the Frenchman was delighted that Adams and Ejuke were able to find the back of the net after a long streak without a goal.
“We needed this victory, and at home it gives us a lot of confidence and desire to continue fighting to get points.
“We had casualties, but we have focused on those who were and anyone who goes out does it with attitude and desire.
“I’m so happy for Akor and Ejuke; they’ve had difficult times, and I’m really happy for them,” the French midfielder said in quotes revealed by Sevilla's official website.

A goal and an assist this evening made it the best game the Nigerian forward has played in a Sevilla jersey, but he played down his goal contributions, stating that the best is yet to come.
“I wouldn't say that. The best is yet to come. The best is yet to come. The best thing is the three points, which we also deserved against Valencia,” Adams said in quotes revealed by Elsevillista.
“It's been a great match for me, for the team and for the fans. It's been a great day for everyone.
“I have the privilege of having been selected by Nigeria. It's an opportunity you can't say no to,” the four-cap Super Eagles star concluded.

Ejuke and Adams will join up with the rest of the 26 players called up by Eric Chelle for the AFCON 2025 tournament. Next up for them is the friendly against Egypt on Tuesday at the Cairo International Stadium.
