Wolves new coach Rob Edwards delivers verdict on Tolu Arokodare

Wolverhampton Wanderers' new head coach, Rob Edwards, has issued a positive comment about Tolu Arokodare despite his side's loss to Crystal Palace, Soccernet.ng reports.

Vitor Pereira turned Wolves' fortunes around last season after the first half of the campaign saw them battle in the relegation spots.

However, the Portuguese heralded the three-time EPL winners to just two points from 11 league games and was fired.

Rob Edwards was brought in to replace the former Porto manager, but he fell short in his first test against Oliver Glasner's side.

More playing time for Arokodare under new Wolves coach?

The Welshman opted to pair Arokodare in attack with Jørgen Strand Larsen at the Molineux on Saturday afternoon, but the hosts were unable to turn their chances into goals.

The pair couldn't combine for a goal, but the Nigerian striker caught Edwards’ eye, and it seems like he could now be in line for more minutes at the Molineux.

“I think they'll be very difficult to play against,” the 42-year-old said in quotes revealed by the Wolves' official website.

“Tolu’s done really well this week for us, and I’ve liked him, and I thought he worked extremely hard today.

“We'll get more from him the fitter he gets. He's not at full power, I don't think he's quite sure yet, but he worked really, really hard for the hour or so that he was on.

“I'm looking forward to getting more from him. I think he believes in what we're trying to do.

“If we can get them right at it, you wouldn’t want to play against those two,” the former Luton Town coach concluded.

Wolves' two points from 12 opening games is the worst-ever start by a team in the English Premier League. While they're bottom of the league, Arokodare is still confident his side can turn things around.
