Paul Onuachu was unable to muster an attempt on goal in Trabzonspor's goalless draw against Galatasaray last night…

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina has revealed how his side were able to keep Paul Onuachu quiet at RAMS Park last night, Soccernet.ng reports.

Prior to the clash against Galatasaray, Onuachu had scored seven goals in ten league games, but he recorded the fewest touches on the pitch of any outfield player last night.

Lemina, who's keen on knocking Nigeria out of the World Cup play-offs with Gabon, showed his strength yesterday despite playing out of position. He won all of his ground and aerial duels.

Lemina gets the better of Onuachu

The Gabonese midfielder was quizzed about how he was able to keep the lanky Nigerian striker quiet yesterday.

“What is important to me is that the team wins,” the 32-year-old said in quotes revealed by Fanatik.

“I'm glad I'm performing well and the team is winning. If I'm doing badly and the team wins, I'll be happy again. The important thing is Galatasaray.

“My battle with Onuachu? I only know my own power

“I know what I can do in individual battles. We made the team ready and went out on the field. I'm just unhappy that we didn't win.”

“Before I arrived, Galatasaray had very good defenders. We're not scoring right now. We need to score goals in the coming games.

“That's how we win. This is how my defensive contribution is happening

“What's important to me is that we set up a good team. We're going well.

“We're looking ahead of us for the UEFA Champions League match against Ajax. We'll get ready for them. We'll think about it later,” the ex-Fulham man concluded.
