Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has become a topic of serious debate at Lazio, as coach Maurizio Sarri wants him to leave, but the club's hierachy wants to keep him, Soccernet.ng reports.
Since joining Lazio from Hatayspor for €3.4 milion last year, things have not exactly been smooth.
The 24-year-old midfielder, who impressed in Turkey, has spent more time on the sidelines than on the pitch － either due to injuries or managerial changes.
Before the start of the season, it seemed like Dele-Bashiru was going to play an important role under Sarri, who was employed in the summer. In reality, Lazio are not financially buoyant, so Sarri would have to make do with the talent available.
Dele-Bashiru got a lot of playing time at the start of the campaign, but he has been sidelined with a muscle injury since the end of September.
The Super Eagles star is close to reaching full fitness, but he seems to have fallen out of favour with Sarri.
According to Lazio Press, Sarri has told the club to sell Dele-Bashiru in the January transfer market, as he does not deem the Nigerian as central to his plans.
However, the club's sporting director Angelo Fabiani, who has the final say on transfers does not want the Super Eagles star to leave yet.

However, Sarri would likely have to wait until next summer before he gets his wish.
