Nigerians go wild at Lagos watch-party as Real Madrid beat Barca in tense El Clásico

Nigerians gathered in Lagos on Sunday night to witness another dramatic edition of El Clásico, as Real Madrid defeated arch-rivals Barcelona 2–1 in a fiery encounter, Soccernet.ng reports.

The watch-party, attended by passionate supporters and celebrities, brought fans together to enjoy one of football’s biggest fixtures away from the Santiago Bernabéu stadium atmosphere.

However, there was just as much excitement and anticipation filled with rivalry from the two La Liga giants.

Had a great time at Hard Rock Café yesterday.

The banter between the Barcelona and Real Madrid fans was top-tier — and yes, I backed the winning side. pic.twitter.com/kJW2HxFtHY

Real Madrid vs. Barcelona: What happened?

As Nigerian fans turned out for the clash between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona—at a special watch party activated by NIVEA Men—the match lived up to its billing.

In the 22nd minute, Kylian Mbappé broke the deadlock for Real Madrid by calmly finishing a precise through-ball from Jude Bellingham.

Barcelona hit back just before the half-hour mark when Fermín López pounced on a defensive lapse to level the score.

However, Madrid regained the lead in the 43rd minute as Bellingham converted a header from Vinícius Júnior’s cross, which sealed a fiercely contested 2–1 victory.

MC Lively & Groovy Elevate the Atmosphere

Among the attendees were popular comedian MC Lively and reality-TV-star-turned-musician Groovy, who helped keep the energy high throughout the NIVEA Men event.

MC Lively took charge of pre-match and half-time interactions with fans, bringing humour and excitement to the build-up.

Groovy, appearing as a special guest, further thrilled the crowd—confidently predicting a 2–1 win for Real Madrid, which turned out spot on.
