The Super Eagles of Nigeria are slated to participate in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament slated to hold in Morocco…

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially confirmed that the Super Eagles will face Venezuela and Colombia in international friendly matches during the FIFA window in November 2025, Soccernet.ng reports.

Multiple reports in the Nigerian football scene suggest that two friendly fixtures have been lined up against Venezuela and Copa America champions, Colombia.

NFF, through its communication department, have confirmed the news as a preparation for the upcoming tournament.

When Is Super Eagles Next Match?

According to NFF’s FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachón of Eurodata Sport, the Eagles will first take on Venezuela on Friday, 14 November 2025, at the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston, Texas, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time.

Four days later, on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the three-time African champions will square up against Colombia’s Los Cafeteros at Citi Field Stadium in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York. The match is set for 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (1:00 a.m. Wednesday, 19 November in Nigeria).

NFF States Reasons For Friendly

The NFF explained that both fixtures form part of the team’s preparation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, as well as crucial tune-ups ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

This will not be the Eagles’ first taste of U.S. action. During their last trip in the summer of 2022, Nigeria faced Mexico at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, falling 2–1 in José Peseiro’s first match in charge, with Cyriel Dessers grabbing the only goal for Nigeria. The team also lost narrowly to Ecuador in New Jersey in the same tour.

Having secured a draw and a victory in their last two games against South Africa and Rwanda, the Super Eagles will be eager to make a stronger impression this time around against two of South America’s toughest sides.
