Wolves striker Tolu Arokodare scored his first goal as the Midlands side sealed a 2-0 win over Everton in the Carabao Cup third round at Molineux, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old Super Eagles forward came off the bench to wrap up the game in the 87th minute, side-footing home to double Wolves’ advantage after Marshall Munetsi had opened the scoring in the first half.

What Did Tolu Arokodare Promise Wolves Fans?

Moments after the final whistle, Arokodare expressing his delight, took to his X (formerly Twitter) platform to promise Wolves fans more goals moving forward.

“First goal in gold and we pray for more. Next round let’s go!! #teatime”

The goal was his first for Wolves since joining the club and boosted confidence in Vítor Pereira’s squad after a stuttering start to the season.

Wolves vs Everton: Tactical Battle

Pereira had made nine changes from the side that played in the Premier League the previous weekend, switching to a back four and giving minutes to fringe players.

The tactical switch paid off, with Andre earning Player of the Match for his defensive work and midfield distribution.

For Everton, manager David Moyes also rang the changes—seven in total—but his side struggled to create clear-cut chances until late in the game.

James Garner rattled the crossbar from a free-kick, while substitutes Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye added some spark in the final stages, but Wolves’ defence stood firm to secure their first clean sheet of the season.

The defeat saw Moyes criticise the performance of his starting XI, and confirmed the second-half subs gave Everton more attacking presence, but lamented their lack of sharpness in front of goal.

For Wolves, however, the night belonged to Arokodare, who announced himself to the Molineux faithful with a finish that could be the first of many.
