The Super Eagles striker has been starved of game time at Nottingham Forest…

English Premier League club Nottingham Forest have confirmed that they have cut ties with Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis by a mutual termination of contract, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford in 2022. That year, he was a hot prospect for the teams in the lower half of the Premier League table after an impressive 2021/22 campaign that saw him contribute ten goals and six assists.

Unfortunately for him, upon his move to the City Ground, Dennis did not get a lot of game time, as he featured in only 19 games in his first season.

Due to his lack of game time, he then went on loan to Super Lig club Istanbul Basaksehir. But he didn't cut it there and had to return to Watford on loan.

Dennis spent last season on another loan spell at Champions club Blackburn, but his performances did not inspire much confidence, so they did not sign him permanently.

The Super Eagles star returned to Nottingham Forest at the end of last season. But he has not been involved with the rest of his teammates.

Dennis did not join them for pre-season and has not even made any matchday squad this season. Meanwhile, no bid has come in for him.

As a result, Nottingham Forest met with Emmanuel Dennis' representatives to sort out Dennis' future last week. And they have now decided to part ways by mutual consent.

Nottingham Forest can confirm that Emmanuel Dennis has left the Club following the mutual termination of his contract.

Now that Emmanuel Dennis has terminated his contract with Nottingham Forest, he is free to join any club wherever and whenever he wants.

However, he will be looking to return to football as soon as possible, as he turns 28 this year and should be performing at his peak.

In an earlier report by Soccernet.ng, it was stated that Dennis has admirers from Italy. So, he could explore a transfer there in the coming days.

Dennis has eight caps for the Super Eagles. He made his debut in 2019, but he has not played for Nigeria since November 2022.
