Super Eagles star Stanley Nwabali was a doubt for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, but it seems he is a cat with nine lives….

Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has allayed fears of a possible injury by sharing a video of himself in training at Chippa United on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Nwabali had to be helped off the pitch in the 35th minute of Chippa United's 1-0 loss to Richards Bay on Tuesday. And that sparked fears that he had sustained a serious injury that would keep him sideline for a significant time.

With Nigeria's crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Southern Africa just a few days away, it seemed almost certain that Nwabali would not make it in time to play.

To even make matters worse for Nigeria, second choice goalie Maduka Okoye, is ineligible to play due to a ban he got in Italy.

However, fans' hopes were raised after the Nigeria Football Federation confirmed the final 23 players called up for the next set of games, and Nwabali's named was on the list.

Obviously, the 29-year-old's inclusion on the list would mean that he will be fit to play in at least one of the games against Rwanda or South Africa.

But in a new development, Nwabali has now confirmed that he is fit as a fiddle and ready to go.

Chippa United's next game is against South African giants Orlando Pirates, and Nwabali will be expected to man the sticks for the Chilli Boys.

After that, the 29-year-old shot-stopper is expected to link up with his Super Eagles teammates for the Rwanda fixtures.
