Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City was subject to a transfer interest from English Premier League giants, Manchester United…

Leicester City have reportedly accepted an improved bid from Turkish Super Lig club Beşiktaş for Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, eyed by Manchester United, Soccernet.ng understands.

This development comes just days after Leicester turned down an initial €7 million offer from Beşiktaş for the Nigerian midfielder.

The new offer is believed to be closer to the €9.5 million release clause in Ndidi’s contract, which became active following the Foxes' relegation from the Premier League last season.

Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba confirmed the latest breakthrough via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the deal is “100% confirmed” and aligns with Ndidi’s long-standing desire to leave the Championship side.

“Ndidi don’t want to play Championship football, and there’s an agreement he will leave if an offer comes in,” Laba posted.

“This is the first official offer for him,” he added, while crediting Ben Jacobs for first reporting the development.

The 27-year-old has been a key figure in Blue’s midfield since arriving from Belgian side Genk in 2017.

European Clubs Target Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi

Despite signing a contract extension last summer to stay at the King Power Stadium until June 2027, the presence of a relegation-triggered release clause has kept him on the radar of top European clubs.

The Nigerian international had attracted interest from Manchester United, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, and clubs in the Saudi Pro League, but Beşiktaş are now the first to submit a formal offer strong enough to be accepted.

After suffering a hamstring injury in December 2024, Ndidi returned to full fitness in early 2025 and has since featured prominently under new Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Nonetheless, his ambition to return to top-flight football appears to have guided his decision to pursue a move.

If completed, the transfer would see Ndidi join a growing list of Nigerian players in the Turkish Super Lig, particularly Victor Osimhen, who recently sealed a permanent move to join Galatasaray from Napoli.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Foxes nor Beşiktaş have made an official statement regarding the deal.
