Beşiktaş seal Ndidi swoop: €9.5m coup + €16m wages – Full transfer breakdown

Turkish giants Beşiktaş have officially secured the signature of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City, Soccernet.ng reports.

The deal, which is valued at €9.5 million, is set to bolster their squad structuring as they seek to build a formidable squad ahead of next season.

The 28-year-old agreed to a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, with wages reported to be €4 million annually.

This brings the potential earnings of the Super Eagles star to a fee in the region of €16 million—3 years plus one—over the full term.

The move also ends Ndidi’s seven-year spell in England, where he became one of the Premier League’s most consistent defensive midfielders.

With an image shared on Soccernet.ng's social media page, the deal was finalised following a successful medical and personal terms agreement in Istanbul earlier this week.

Transfer fee and contract details for Ndidi

Per Diario AS, Beşiktaş will pay €9.5 million to Leicester City, who have opted to cash in on the midfielder following their promotion back to the Premier League.

The club had been negotiating with multiple suitors, but Beşiktaş moved quickly to close the deal with a competitive package.

Ndidi’s contract includes a three-year base deal with an optional fourth year, potentially keeping him at the club until 2028.

Salary breakdown: What will Ndidi earn?

Per AS, Ndidi is expected to earn €4 million per season, excluding bonuses and image rights. Over the first three years, that amounts to €12 million, and should he stay for the fourth year, the total would rise to €16 million.

With the transfer fee included, Beşiktaş’s total investment could exceed €25 million, which makes Ndidi one of their most valuable signings in recent years.

From Leicester to Istanbul

Ndidi joined Leicester City in 2017 as a promising 20-year-old and quickly evolved into one of Europe’s most reliable ball-winners.

His time at the club saw him win the FA Cup (2021) and become a fan favourite. Despite Leicester’s relegation in 2023, Ndidi remained loyal, helping the team regain promotion to the Premier League in 2024.
