Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed the team's readiness as Nigeria prepare to face Tunisia in their opening match of the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Soccernet.ng reports.

Following their impressive preparatory matches—where they defeated Cameroon 2-0, held Portugal to a goalless draw, and beat Ghana 3-1—the Super Falcons now have a bigger challenge ahead as they face the Tunisian women.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ajibade revealed, through Victor Ademola's lens, that the atmosphere within the squad is positive and focused as the players gear up to begin their title challenge.

“The mood in camp is amazing. The players are looking forward to the start of this tournament,” the former Atletico Madrid forward said. “We can't wait to show off that talent as a team and also put what we've been learning together on the pitch.”

Nigeria, the most successful team in WAFCON history with nine titles, will be hoping to begin the tournament on a strong note and set the tone for their campaign in Group C, which also includes Botswana and Algeria.

Ajibade, who recently concluded her contract with Atletico Madrid, also had a heartfelt message for Nigerian fans and supporters across Africa.

“So, my word to the family back home, and all our friends who support us across the continent — keep praying for us, keep supporting us. Our goal and mission here is to make you proud as always, and make sure we do our best,” she said.

With several experienced and in-form players in the squad, expectations are high for the Super Falcons to challenge for their 10th continental crown.
