Tunisia coach Kamel Saada has pinpointed one Super Falcons star as one of the threats they are going to be wary of when they play Nigeria in their opening game of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

It will be a case of David against Goliath when Nigeria play Tunisia at Stade Larbi Zaouli. The two countries are far apart in female football, as the Super Falcons are perennial African champions, with nine titles in their bag.

Tunisia, on the other hand, are underachievers. In fact, this is just their third appearance in the WAFCON after two previous disappointing campaigns.

The Super Falcons also have a lot of quality, with most of the players plying their trades abroad. They also have experience on the world stage, as they have been at the FIFA World Cup on multiple occasions.

As it is, the odds look stacked against the Eagles of Carthage. However, the coach of the team Saada still believes his team can snatched an unprecedented win.

In the pre-match conference, he praised the Super Falcons for their quality and even named Atletico Madrid star Rasheedat Ajibade as one to watch. Nonetheless, he remains confident heading into the fixture.

“Tunisia has good players, Nigeria also have good players like Rasheedat. We can get a good result against Nigeria,” Saada said, per Ademola Victor TV.

If Tunisia manage to get a result against Nigeria, it will be a big win for their women's football. But Super Falcons Justin Madugu will hope that his ladies turn up and secure all three points.
