Tolu Arokodare has attracted interest from Atalanta, Manchester United and other top clubs this summer

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has attracted interest from many top clubs in Europe this summer, and it appears that Genk are already preparing for life without him, Soccernet.ng reports.

Arokodare is coming off a career-best season with Genk that saw him register 23 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

His performances saw him get a national team call-up, won him the Ebony Shoe, and his value has skyrocketed to a record-high €18 million.

The former Amiens star's brilliance has not gone unnoticed, as he has been linked with several clubs in recent weeks.

Arokodare has been linked with Manchester United, Fulham, Atalanta, Benfica, and other sides in Europe. However, nothing concrete has emerged yet.

Meanwhile, it appears that Genk are resolved to losing Arokodare this summer. This is as they have signed a new striker.

On Wednesday, the club announced the signing of Aaron Bibout from Swedish club Vasteras SK in a deal worth 2.2 million.

He has a similar profile to Arokodare, as he is a tall striker at 6ft 4. He likes to use his body to his advantage and is quite decent in the air.

What Aaron Bibout signing means for Tolu Arokodare

Now that Aaron Bibout is at Genk, it means that the club are already prepared to lose Tolu Arokodare this summer.

Moreover, Bibout has a decent record of 36 goals and nine assists in his last 85 games, and there is room for improvement, as he is just 20 years old.

However, Arokodare's next destination remains a mystery, as no club has made headway to sign him yet.

Genk's move to sign Bibout is a green light for all the clubs interested in Arokodare, including Manchester United, Fulham, and Atalanta. However, Genk can be very difficult to negotiate with.

Arokodare is currently valued at €18 million on Transfermarkt. But The Smurfs could demand up to €25 million before they let the Super Eagles star leave.

Moreover, the Super Eagles star still has two years on his contract, so Genk can still hold out for at least one more year.
