Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee is showing signs that he might be getting better, as he scored a beautiful goal during a pre-season training session at the Carrington facility, Soccernet.ng reports.
Zirkzee had a tough debut campaign at Manchester United last season. After his €42.5 million transfer from Bologna, he only managed seven goals and three assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Most of his performances did not inspire a lot of confidence from Manchester United fans as he was often criticized for his profligacy.
Since the end of the campaign, there have been talks that he could leave Manchester United, but nothing concrete has emerged yet. Moreover, coach Ruben Amorim has not exactly stated that he wants the Dutchman to leave.
So in the meantime, he has joined the club for pre-season. The Red Devils are camped at their Carrington base, ahead of some friendly games which will begin on July 19 with a game against Leeds United.
Zirkzee is showing signs of being in good form, as he scored a peach of a goal during a training session on Saturday. He got on the end of a cross and produced a flashy finish that left the goalkeeper helpless.

Although that was a training session goal, it might be a taste of what is to come. Zirkzee is still young and is expected to keep developing in the coming years.
Joshua Zirkzee could have played for Nigeria
Joshua Zirkzee was born in Netherlands to a Dutch father and a Nigerian mother, this making him eligible to represent both countries.
However, he has been playing for the Netherlands since youth level. He could have easily switched to Nigeria at senior level. But he stuck with the Orange and already has six caps with the senior team.
As such, he can't play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles anymore.
