Super Eagles central defender, Benjamin Tanimu, has penned a new deal with Moroccan side, Maghreb Association Sportive de Fés, after leaving Crawley Town, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old centre-back joined the third-tier English side in August 2024, but struggled to break into their first team, making just ten appearances in his time at the club.

Upon their relegation to Sky Bet League Two, the Nigerian defender terminated his contract with Crawley Town and is now set to complete a transfer to Morocco after completing a routine medical procedure.

Tanimu is expected to sign a two-year contract with the Moroccan side, although the option to extend for another year is included.

Tanimu, who has been capped thrice by the Super Eagles, took to his official X page to announce his imminent transfer.

“A new chapter of hope. Life has a way of bringing us full circle, and as I embark on this new journey, I feel an overwhelming sense of hope and excitement for the future that awaits.

“I am truly grateful to announce that Maghreb FES will be my new home for the next three years, following my time at Crawley. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Crawley for the kindness and support they showed me during my time there.

“As I step into this promising new chapter, I am eager to connect with the wonderful community in Fes. Together with Maghreb, I hope to achieve great things and bring joy to our fans and management alike. Yellow tigers, let's roar.” The Super Eagles defender wrote.
