Nigerian striker Akor Adams risks having to leave Spanish LaLiga club Sevilla, as the club does not have the finances to register him for the league next season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Adams joined Sevilla from Ligue 1 club Montpellier in January, but he has struggled to make a mark at the club majorly due to injuries.

The former Flying Eagles star has had to deal with hamstring and muscle injuries that restricted him to just four appearances for Sevilla.

Adams has since returned to action and is ready to go for next season. He could even be the main man in attack for Sevilla if he takes his chances.

However, the 25-year-old striker might experience a setback in his bid to make a big impression next season. This is as Futbol Fantasy reports that Sevilla might not be able to register Adams for the LaLiga next season.

The club finances are poor at the moment, and that has affected their wage cap, which means they cannot register some players, including Adams.

To turn the situation around, Sevilla would have to sell some players. This is similar to what Barcelona have been experiencing in recent years that has seen them sell some of their assets to be allowed to sign and register their players.

Sevilla should be able to pull through though. The transfer window is still open for a long time, and they will surely sell some players.

Adams will hope that Sevilla sort out the issues and he can become an important player for them next season.
