Super Eagles midfielder Christantus Uche has quelled talks that he is on strike at Getafe in a bid to force the club to sell him, Soccernet.ng reports.
In recent months, Uche has been linked with many clubs. This follows a consistent run of impressive performances since joining Gefate from third-tier Spanish club Ceuta last summer.
Despite the big switch to the LaLiga, Uche held his own, and became an important player for Getafe last season with a decent return of four goals and seven assists.
Clubs like Brentford, Everton, Aston Villa, and Chelsea were linked to the 22-year-old midfielder in the January transfer window, but the talks did not materialize.
This summer, Uche has been heavily linked to Atletico Madrid. Premier League clubs Sunderland and Everton are also in the mix, albeit neither of them has made an offer yet.
In a recent report by Soccernet.ng, it was inferred that Uche might be trying to force his way out of Getafe, as he had not resumed for pre-season at the club.
But the Super Eagles star has now put those talks to rest. This is as he was pictured training with his Getafe teammates on the beach.

Christantus Uche could still leave Getafe
Although Christantus Uche has returned to Getafe for pre-season, he could still leave this summer if an offer comes.
The Super Eagles star gives any club that signs him a variety of options. He can play as an attacking midfielder and a center midfielder. Uche is also budget-friendly, as Los Azulones would accept €25 million for him.
In the meantime, he will look to focus on Getafe as they look to get back into shape for next season. They avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season.
The club will have to step up and do better if they want to stay afloat next season.
