Six-time CAF Women's Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala has expressed immense pride in Super Falcons youngster Folashade Ijamilusi, Soccernet.ng reports.
This follows her goal in Nigeria’s emphatic 5–0 victory over Zambia in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Ijamilusi scored the final goal in the Super Falcons’ dominant performance at the Stade Larbi Zaouli, which helped the team secure a spot in the tournament’s semifinals.

“Oh my baby, I was so happy. I did celebrate her goal,” said Oshoala. “She worked so hard to be on the team, to be honest with you. This goes to all the young players: just stay ready. If you are on the team, just stay ready.”
Former Barcelona forward Oshoala, has long been a vocal advocate for the next generation of Nigerian talent. in fact, she launched the Asisat Oshoala Foundation in 2019, which focused on empowering girl footballers in Africa.
