Real Betis are in the market for a winger this summer, and much of the transfer talk in Seville has revolved around Samuel Chukwueze replacing Antony, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Manchester United forward was impressive for the La Liga side away from Old Trafford, and a potential return has been linked with the player.

However, with the Red Devils reportedly holding out for a sizeable fee and interest from other European clubs like Bayer Leverkusen heating up, Betis may be forced to explore alternatives.

Meanwhile, earlier reports revealed that Nigerian international, Chukwueze, has popped out as a target for the Spanish club.

Is Chukwueze A Natural Successor?

Chukwueze is no stranger to La Liga, having come of age at Villarreal before securing a move to AC Milan in 2023.

The Nigerian international dazzled fans in Spain with his pace and dribbling skills, famously tearing apart Real Madrid in a standout performance during the 2022/23 campaign. Yet, his move to Italy has not gone according to plan.

At Milan, Chukwueze has struggled for consistent minutes and has failed to dislodge the preferred wide options in the starting lineup.

The Rossoneri are reportedly open to selling him to raise funds, which makes him an appealing option for a Betis side looking to bolster their squad without breaking the bank.

Is Chukwueze's Style of Play a Like-for-Like or a Tactical Shift?

In many ways, Chukwueze’s game mirrors Antony’s—both are left-footed wingers who thrive on the right flank, love to cut inside, and can create as well as finish.

But while Antony is more possession-based, Chukwueze brings explosive acceleration, which defenders often struggle to contain.

Can The Super Eagles Star Prove a Point?

After a lukewarm campaign at Milan, Chukwueze would undoubtedly be motivated to revive his career in familiar territory.

Betis could offer him the regular playing time he craves—something he hasn’t consistently enjoyed since leaving Villarreal.

Can Chukwueze Replace Antony?

While Antony remains the preferred option, the unpredictability of the transfer market means Betis must be ready to pivot. In Chukwueze, they have a player with La Liga pedigree, untapped potential, and a point to prove.
