Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, has admitted he'd love for his ex-club side, Chelsea, to sign Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup tournament, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 40-year-old's current deal with Al Nassr runs out this month. While talks about his renewal with the Saudi-based club are ongoing, FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, made heads swirl after he mentioned he'd love to have the five-time Ballon d'Or winner in the FIFA Club World Cup.
Mikel, who's been clamouring for the UEFA Conference League winners to sign Victor Osimhen for about a year now, revealed he wouldn't be averse to Chelsea signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I'll like to, obviously, but there's this ten day transfer period just for the tournament for the clubs to get one or two players into their teams for the FIFA Club World Cup tournament,” the one-time UEFA Champions League winner said in an interview with TalkSPORT.
“I think it might be Al Hilal if he goes, so they're trying to make him get to the tournament which will be good, even for the fans, and for all of us to see Ronaldo and Messi compete in another tournament.”

“It's amazing. Ronaldo is an amazing player, top goalscorer, it'll be great to see him. Doing it at Chelsea? Yes. Of course we need a number nine, and he's someone Delap can learn from, but everyone knows the number nine that I want us to get, but we're not getting him.
“We need to get Osimhen, but I don't think the club is going that route. We've gotten Delap and I hope he performs and gives Nicolas Jackson some competition. Then we'll see how it leads us from the FIFA club World cup into the Premier League and the Champions League,” the AFCON 2013 winner concluded.
