Former Senegal international El-Hadji Diouf has shared his thoughts on the ongoing transfer saga surrounding Victor Osimhen, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Liverpool forward has offered his insight into which English Premier League club could be the best fit for the Super Eagles striker.

Osimhen, 26, is one of the hottest names on the transfer market after another standout season with Napoli, and he's been strongly linked with a summer switch to England.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool are reportedly in the mix, each looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025-26 season campaign.

What Diouf Said About Osimhen

Diouf, who once starred for Liverpool, believes Osimhen’s track record across Europe proves he’s ready for the Premier League.

“If they are so interested in him, it is because they are convinced that he can win in a great Premier League team—the best championship in the world,” Diouf told Africa Foot. “Osimhen, since he played in Europe, has proven that he can succeed everywhere. He finished top scorer in Italy and Turkey, and among the best in France with Lille.”

However, Diouf raised concerns about some of the clubs eyeing the Super Eagles forward.

“Regarding the English clubs, I am not convinced by Chelsea's sporting project. Manchester United is a big name in European football, but the team is not going to play in the next Champions League, and he [Osimhen] needs to play this type of competition [Which Liverpool will participate in].”

Liverpool were not critiqued directly, which suggests Diouf sees a more stable project at Anfield—especially with the club qualifying for the Champions League and preparing for another era under Arne Slot.

Osimhen, who has a €75 million release clause, scored 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances last season for Galatasaray.

Will the Nigerian Exit Napoli This Summer?

The Nigerian is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after players in the market this summer. However, reports suggest that English clubs are hesitant to meet his high wage demands.

If he fails to secure his dream move to the Premier League, a return to Galatasaray remains a likely option—although the Turkish giants may struggle to meet Napoli’s asking price.
