Italian Serie A giants, Inter Milan, have reportedly initiated contract renewal talks with former Remo Stars midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri have opened discussions with Akinsanmiro’s representatives to extend his current deal, which is set to expire in 2026.
The soon-to-be 21-year-old midfielder joined Inter from the Nigerian Premier Football League in January 2023. Although he has made just one senior appearance for the Serie A giants.
“He’s doing very well,” Cescenzo Cecere stated as cited by Tuttomercatoweb. “The team struggled initially, but with Andrea Sottil as coach, they’re getting back on track. Inter are following his progress, and we hope he can play for the Nerazzurri soon.”

His performances have led many to tip him as a long-term successor to Wilfred Ndidi in Nigeria’s Super Eagles setup, especially as the national team prepares for a generational shift in midfield.
Should he put pen to paper on a new deal, Akinsanmiro could push for more first-team minutes at the San Siro next season—or be sent on another developmental loan, possibly to a top-flight club.
