U-20 AFCON: Nigeria vs Morocco- Five players who can win the game for Flying Eagles

Nigeria's Flying Eagles at the 2025 Under-20 AFCON

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria play the Junior Atlas Lions of Morocco in their second game of the 2025 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations at the June 30 Stadiun in Egypt today.

Going into the match-up, both teams won their opening games. The Flying Eagles defeated Tunisia 1-0 in a frenetic encounter, while Morocco claimed a 3-2 win over Kenya in their first game.

Earlier, Soccernet.ng named five Moroccan players who could hurt the Flying Eagles. Now, in this article, we will spotlight five Flying Eagles players who could be key.

Daniel Bameyi

Daniel Bameyi had a very good game against Tunisia. He led the team as the captain, and he was very vocal. One could even hear him roaring from the defence to ensure his teammates were on their toes.

Bameyi is a no-nonsense defender and he also showed his ability to play long-range passes. He played the key pass that even led to Nigeria’s goal. If the Flying Eagles will win, Bameyi will be very important.

Kparobo Arierhi

Kparobo Arierhi will also be key for the Flying Eagles against Morocco. He did not get a lot of chances against Tunisia in the first game, but he tested the goalkeeper with the only opportunity he got.

Arierhi is a quick and ready runner and puts in the work rate on the pitch. If the midfielders and wingers create the opportunities, he will most likely convert.

Divine Oliseh

Divine Oliseh is one of the key players for Nigeria in the middle of the park. In the first game against Tunisia, he chased down every ball, covering every single blade of grass. Against a Moroccan side who have a high-octane player like Reda Laalaoui, coach Aliyu Zubairu will be hoping that Oliseh will be at his best.

Auwal Ibrahim

Auwal Ibrahim scored the only goal for Nigeria in the opening game against Tunisia. His technique was clean and exquisite. That means that if he gets another opportunity like that against Morocco, he will likely convert.

Ebenezer Harcourt

15-year-old Ebenezer Harcourt is just a teenager, but he put in a very good shift for the Flying Eagles against Tunisia. He looked very comfortable in aerial situations, he was also calm with the ball on his feet. Harcourt also made two big saves to ensure that the Flying Eagles survived. He will likely have a very busy day against Morocco, but he has showed that he is very reliable.
