Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce currently leads the race to secure the signature of Super Eagle star, Wilfred Ndidi, ahead of the upcoming summer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi’s time at Leicester City appears to be winding down as interest in the Super Eagles midfielder heats up following the club’s relegation to the English Championship.

Per reports from Africa Foot, the Yellow Canaries have emerged as frontrunners in the race to sign the Nigerian international, who is reportedly keen to continue playing top-flight football next season.

Further reports suggest that the player's summer move is almost certain, with Turkey looking like the most likely destination.

Ndidi, who joined Leicester City from Belgian outfit Genk in 2017, has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most reliable defensive midfielders.

However, with the Foxes now set for a second season outside the top flight, the 28-year-old is eyeing a fresh challenge.

Fenerbahçe are not alone in their pursuit. Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Fulham, and Everton have also been credited with interest, while Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.

Despite Ndidi’s contract running until 2027, Soccernet.ng understands that a relegation release clause allows him to leave the club for a fee in the region of €9 million.

While there has not been any solid report backing his exit from the club, it is expected that the Nigerian international will be vying for a top-flight football next season.
