Zimbabwe captain Marshall Munetsi has warned the Super Eagles of Nigeria that the Warriors will not show them any respect despite their pedigree when both teams meet on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Zimbabwe and Nigeria lock horns in their sixth game of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers on Tuesday in their crucial World Cup Qualifiers.

The last time both teams met, they settled for a 1-1 draw. Despite that, Nigeria head into the game as favourites due to their superior quality on paper. Nigeria boasts of quality stars like Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Ola Aina, and many others. On the other hand, Zimbabwe's biggest player is €15 million-rated Marshall Munetsi, who plays for Wolves.

In fact, according to Transfermarkt, the total value of Nigeria's squad is €365.1 million, while Zimbabwe's squad is valued at €30.3 million.

Nonetheless, despite this gulf in quality, Zimbabwe Captain, Munetsi has warned that his teammates will not show Nigeria any respect.

“We look at Nigeria on the attacking side, we also do have a very strong side,” Munetsi said, per Cosmos Chukwemeka.

“So it's not only about the guys that are up front. But for us, we are always up for the challenge. History is always meant to be made, so in any case we will always play our hearts out and whatever comes out will come out.

“We also have quality players who can be able to handle certain situations and with the right experience. But for us above all we will not respect Nigeria. It's not to just come here and be a fan but we'll take it as a more serious game and try to get the maximum points.”

What the Super Eagles should expect from Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe can be a tough opponent for Nigeria if they fail to bring their A-game. The Warriors already showed glimpses of what they could do against Nigeria from the first leg.

They are a very fast side and are always full of running. Of course, they will likely sit deep in Uyo as the game plan will be to hit the Super Eagles on the counter, as they have quickly forwards like Jordan Zemura and the Musona brothers (Walter and Knowledge).

The Warriors also have Munetsi, who is a different animal when he plays for Zimbabwe. So the Super Eagles should expect a tough game on Tuesday.
