Moses Simon: Serie A club eye move for Super Eagles forward – Report

Super Eagles forward Moses Simon has been linked with a move to Serie A side AS Roma from FC Nantes, Soccernet.ng reports.

This year marks five years since the 29-year-old joined Nantes from Levante. During that time, he has made 191 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals and providing 38 assists.

However, despite having a year left on his contract, the Nigeria international could be heading into his final season with the French side.

According to reports, the Pacy winger is on Roma’s radar and could be open to a move to the Stadio Olimpico as the summer transfer window approaches.

Further reports claim that several clubs, including OGC Nice—home to his compatriot Terem Moffi—and Olympique Marseille, are also interested in the winger.

This suggests that Roma will have to battle the French clubs for the signature of the former KAA Gent star.

Speaking to L’Équipe (via Homme Du Match), Simon previously explained why he had not moved to a bigger club despite receiving offers from top European teams.

“You can be at a bigger club, not play, and not be happy. Playing in the European Cup, of course, is something I have already experienced, but if it does not come… My job is Nantes,” said the former AS Trencin player.

That said, a move to Roma could still be appealing, as he might not face as much competition for his position. Reports also suggest that Simon is open to leaving France for a new challenge.
