Nigeria’s football teams are set for a busy 2025 with several key CAF tournaments on the horizon. The Super Eagles will aim for their fourth AFCON title, while the Super Falcons will chase a record-extending 10th WAFCON trophy in Morocco to further cement their dominance in African football.
The Flying Eagles will focus on securing a top-four finish at the AFCON U-20 tournament to qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, the CHAN Eagles, representing home-based players, will compete in the TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship to seal their first-ever title. Enyimba, one of Nigeria’s top club, and the only Nigerian team participating in the CAF Confederation Cup, will also target glory.
When are the key CAF tournaments happening in 2025?
The CHAN Eagles will start the year competing in the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) from February 1-28, showcasing the best talents from Nigeria's domestic league.
In April, the Flying Eagles will feature in the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from April 26 to May 18, with the goal of securing a top-four finish to qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
