Super Eagles and Nottingham Forest striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, could leave the City Ground this month if an offer comes in, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 27-year-old has started just two Premier League games for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season. He fell down the pecking order after suffering consistent groin injuries.
In his absence, Chris Wood has made the number nine position his own. The New Zealand striker has scored 11 goals and provided one assist in 18 starts for Forest this season, and is 5th on the league’s top scorer’s charts, behind Cole Palmer(12), Aleksandar Isak(12), Erling Haaland(14) and Mohammed Salah (17).
With Awoniyi struggling for minutes with this in-form Forest side, the club have decided they’ll be listening to offers for the former Mainz 05 striker. Should an offer come in, the Reds will sell Awoniyi when they find a suitable replacement, as revealed by Mail Online.

Awoniyi joined Nottingham Forest from Union Berlin for a then-club record fee of £17 million in the summer of 2022. Despite struggling with injuries, he scored 17 goals in his first two seasons.
The 27-year-old has thirty months left on his current contract, and with a potential exit on the cards, Forest are keeping an eye on Brazilian striker, Yuri Alberto, as reported by Nottingham Post.
Valued around £19 million, the 23-year-old has scored 57 goals and provided 18 assists in 148 games for Corinthians. However, the two-time UEFA Champions League winners face competition from Newcastle United for the striker’s signature.
It is highly unlikely Taiwo Awoniyi will leave Forest during the winter transfer window, but his stance on an exit is currently unknown, as well as potential suitors.
