It is no longer news that the Côte d'Ivoire-born gaffer, Eric Chelle, is set to take over the Super Eagles from interim coach Augustine Eguavoen, who will return to his role as the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Soccernet.ng reports.

At the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Chelle frequently deployed a 4-3-1-2 formation, which emphasises midfield control, attacking width, and defensive stability. At MC Oran, he also experimented with 4-3-3 and 3-5-2 formations, showcasing his adaptability.
This tactical versatility suggests Chelle may favour using two strikers and a four-man defence, deviating from the three-man defence and lone striker setup previously employed by the Super Eagles.
