Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke has been excluded from Sevilla’s squad for their La Liga fixture against Valencia at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Sevilla return to La Liga action on Saturday, aiming to pick their first win of the year against Valencia at home. Los Nervionenses have struggled with many injuries this season, especially their Nigerian stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke.
Ejuke has been out of action since last October when he suffered a hamstring injury. There were reports earlier in the week that he had returned to full training, but he may still have to be sidelined for a while.
In their press conference on Saturday, coach Garcia Pimienta hinted that the Ejuke is yet to reach his full powers.
“He has not recovered yet, he has had two days of partial training, but he is eager to participate,” Pimienta said.
Sevilla revealed their matchday squad for their game against Valencia on Saturday. And ahead of the fixture, they released their matchday squad.
As expected, Ejuke’s name was excluded. Iheanacho was also missing, as Pimienta revealed that he has been dealing with an injury since the turn of the year.

In Ejuke’s absence, Ruben Vargas or Dodi Lukebakio will likely get the nod to start. Nonetheless, the Nigerian forward is expected to return to action by next week.
