Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman achieved a remarkable milestone for Atalanta BC, marking his 100th appearance for the club during their Supercoppa Italiana clash against Inter Milan, Soccernet.ng reports.
However, the milestone was overshadowed by a disappointing result as Denzel Dumfries' brace secured a 2-0 victory for Inter, which eliminated Atalanta from the tournament and leaving Lookman’s landmark moment bittersweet.
Lookman joined Atalanta from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022 and has since become a pivotal figure in Gian Piero Gasperini's squad.
Replacing Nicolo Zaniolo in the 56th minute of the match, the Nigerian star had little impact during his 35-minute cameo, as Dumfries sealed Inter’s win with a second goal in the 61st minute.
