“We’ll see” – Manchester United legend Van Nistelrooy gives injury update on Leicester’s Ndidi

Leicester City head coach, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, has broken the silence on the injury situation surrounding Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 27-year-old midfielder was given the man of the match award in the Foxes 3-1 midweek win over West Ham, which was also Van Nistelrooy’s first game in charge of Leicester City after a brief spell on the Manchester United touchline where he worked after Erik Ten Hag was fired.

Ndidi started against Brighton and Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium, and played the entire first half as Ghana’s Tariq Lamptey put the Seagulls in front.

Seven minutes into the second half, the Nigerian midfielder was withdrawn after a collision with Brazilian forward, João Pedro.

Speaking after the game, Van Nistelrooy revealed he was unsure of the nature of Ndidi’s injury, but hoped he’d have his midfield warrior up and running in little to no time.

“Wilf, when he comes off you know there’s a problem. I hope it’s minor. He felt a slight strain in the hamstring. Hopefully it’s not too much. We’ll see how quick we can get him back,” the former Real Madrid striker said in quotes revealed by BBC.

Leicester were two goals down with five minutes left on the clock before Jamie Vardy pulled one back. Alex Iwobi’s former teammate, Bobby De Cordova Reid scored the equalizer in additional time to seal a vital point for the home side.
