Alex Iwobi has been ranked Nigeria’s most valuable player in the Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.
According to the latest transfer valuations released by Transfermarkt, the Fulham midfielder, currently valued at €25 million (approximately ₦41 billion), leads the list of Super Eagles stars in England’s top flight.
While this figure falls short of his career-high valuation of €32 million, Iwobi’s impressive form this season has underlined his importance.
The 27-year-old has contributed five goals and three assists in 16 games, marking his most prolific start to a Premier League campaign since making his debut.
Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi follows closely behind, with a market value of €22 million. The forward’s strong performances last season have cemented his position as Nigeria’s second-most valuable player in England.
Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, once valued at an astonishing €62 million during his peak years, now sits third at €18 million. Despite his reduced valuation, the midfielder has remained a key figure for Leicester, featuring in all but one match this season.
Calvin Bassey, valued at €16 million, ranks fourth. The centre-back, who became Nigeria’s most expensive defensive export when he joined Ajax from Rangers in 2022, has been vital for Marco Silva’s side.
However, Bassey missed Fulham’s recent draw against Liverpool due to suspension.
Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina rounds out the top five. The versatile fullback has seen his value rise by €2 million to €14 million following his consistent displays this season.
Elsewhere, Southampton striker Paul Onuachu (€11 million) remains sixth despite limited playing time. Onuachu, who joined the Saints in January 2023, is yet to open his Premier League goal account.
At the bottom of the rankings, Emmanuel Dennis, inactive for Nottingham Forest since the start of the season, holds a valuation of €4 million. Meanwhile, Southampton’s Joe Aribo sits just above him with a €6 million value.
Interestingly, Chelsea trio Carney Chukwuemeka, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Lesley Ugochukwu (currently on loan at Southampton), as well as Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri, are yet to commit their international futures to Nigeria despite eligibility.
