Ola Aina shines as Nottingham Forest down Manchester United at Old Trafford

Super Eagles star Ola Aina played all 90 minutes for Nottingham Forest in their hard-fought 3-2 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford, Soccernet.ng reports.

After falling to a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City in midweek, Nottingham Forest returned to action with a game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Nigerian defender Aina kept his place in the starting lineup, while Taiwo Awoniyi started from the bench.

The Tricky Trees started the game well, and they got the lead just two minutes in, through Nikola Milenkovic. However, their joy did not last long as Rasmus Hojlund scored the equalizer in the 18th minute.

The Red Devils bossed the proceedings in the first half, but they just failed to score agains, as both sides went into the break level.

Nottingham Forest started the second half with fire in their bellies, as Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Woods scored twice before the 54th minute to make it 3-1 to the visitors.

Bruno Fernandes scored again for Manchester United in the 64th minute to make it 3-2 and ensure a frenetic finish. Nonetheless, Nottingham Forest held on tight to their lead.

Aina put on a strong show, registering two clearances, one interception, 47 touches, and three successful dribbles.

Despite the late onslaught, Nottingham Forest held on to secure the 3-2 win over Manchester United. It was the Tricky Trees’ first win at Old Trafford since 1994.
