“Galatasaray will get someone better if Osimhen leaves”- Former Super Lig POTY

Former Turkish Super Lig Player of the Year Burak Yilmaz believes Galatasaray will eventually get a better striker than Victor Osimhen if the Nigerian decides to leave, Soccernet.ng reports.

Osimhen has been brilliant since his season-long loan transfer from Serie A club Napoli to reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray. The 25-year-old Super Eagles striker has swiftly slotted into Orkan Buruk’s setup and become a regular protagonist.

However, there has been skepticism over the Nigerian’s future, especially as he has always desired a transfer to a big club, preferably in the English Premier League. Meanwhile, there have been talks that Galatasaray want to keep him permanently and have already started talks with Napoli.

Nonetheless, former Turkish Super Lig star Burak Yimaz, who won the league’s Player of the Season award for the 2012/2013 season, believes that Galatasaray will still do well even if Osimhen leaves.

“Galatasaray have always had the best goalkeepers and strikers. If Icardi is not at Galatasaray, Osimhen will be there. If Osimhen is not there, someone better will be,” Yimaz told 343, per Le Marca Sports.

Osimhen is valued at €75 million on Transfermarket. And Galatasaray could struggle financially if they attempt to sign the Nigerian. Hence, the Super Eagles star could be on his way out Turkey by next summer.
