“They sent a private jet” – Interim Super Eagles manager confirms Ola Aina’s departure from Nigeria camp ahead of Rwanda fixture

Interim Super Eagles manager, Augustine Owen Eguavoen, has revealed that Nigeria will be without Nottingham Forest full-back, Ola Aina, when the Super Eagles play against Rwanda on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 28-year-old has played all of Nottingham Forest's league games this season, and scored a brilliant goal against West Ham United, which saw him included in Troy Deeney's BBC Premier League team of the week.

Aina played in Nigeria's 1-1 draw against the Republic of Benin, and was on the pitch for 82 minutes. He looked to struggle towards the end of the game against Gernot Rohr's men, and was taken off by Eguavoen, with Fernabahce's Osayi-Samuel coming on in his place.

Speaking ahead of Nigeria's game against the Republic of Rwanda, Eguavoen confirmed he'll be without his first-choice right-back as he's already on his way to England.

“Forest sent a private jet to get him back to England for their game against Arsenal,” the 59-year-old told Eagle7fm sports radio station, as monitored by Soccernet.ng.

Ola Aina's return to his club side hinted that the former Chelsea man could have picked up a knock but Nuno's side swooped in to save their full-back on a precautionary note ahead of their crunch clash against Arsenal next weekend.

Forest are currently level on points with Mikel Arteta's men. Both sides have nineteen points from eleven games in the league, but Arsenal are slightly above the Reds due to goal difference.
