Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has reaffirmed that Victor Osimhen remains fully committed to the Turkish club for the current season, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigeria international joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on a season-long loan from Napoli after prolonged negotiations involving his representatives and the Italian club.
Osimhen has been in scintillating form since his arrival, netting six goals in six appearances to help Galatasaray maintain their position at the top of the league table.
Despite his success, the former LOSC Lille forward has been linked with a summer move to elite European clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Arsenal.
Amid the transfer speculations, Özbek acknowledged the widespread interest but clarified that any potential deal would depend on financial factors, including spending limits.
“Osimhen is our player this season. Of course, all clubs want to transfer Osimhen at the end of the season. One of the most important factors is the formation of spending limits,” Özbek stated.
The Galatasaray president further emphasised the club’s focus on clinching their 23rd league title—a milestone that would allow the team to add a coveted fifth star to their badge in line with Turkish football traditions.
“It is too early for that. Our goal this season is to be the champion and wear the 5th star,” Özbek added.
Osimhen, who recently equalled Segun Odegbami’s long-standing goal record for Nigeria, has remained unperturbed by the transfer saga, instead directing his attention toward helping Galatasaray achieve their objectives this season.
