Libya delay could see Semi Ajayi miss crunch West Bromwich Albion fixture

Super Eagles and West Bromwich Albion centre-back, Oluwasemilogo Semi Ajayi, could miss his side's crucial fixture against Oxford United, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 30-year-old has been on International duty with the Super Eagles but, was only a last-minute substitute against the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo as Augustine Eguavoen's men secured a 1-0 win.

Ajayi, alongside his national teammates faced unsportsmanlike behaviour from the Libyan government and football association, as the Super Eagles squad were left stranded at their airport without food and internet for over 13 hours.

The team captain, William Troost-Ekong, came out to explain the situation to the public via his official X account, adding that the Super Eagles will not play their away clash against Libya.

While the Super Eagles are now safely back in Nigeria, there are concerns over Ajayi's availability for West Brom's crunch clash against Oxford United on Saturday, as revealed by West Brom News.
