Lazio head coach, Marco Baroni, has praised Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru for his improved display in his sides 2-0 win against Twente, Soccernet.ng reports.
This comes after the Italian manager mentioned the Nigerian midfielder must improve his mentality to become the player he envisions himself to be.
The 23-year-old was drafted into the starting eleven by Baroni and repaid the manager’s faith by providing the assist for Lazio’s second goal in their Europa League victory over Twente, earning praise from his manager.
“It went well. The team prepared the game well. Here there is a young team and environment that plays. Just look at how they pressed the goalkeeper in the second half.
These are games that even when you have a numerical advantage, in the lead, you have to close them out. When you close them out you have to always stay in the game and we did that.
I am happy for Samuel (Gigot) he can give a lot in all aspects: personality, charisma, character, and he is a strong player. We brought him back. Dele is not a surprise, you have to give him time. There is a path that every player, when he arrives in a different environment and has different attention, has to create. He has quality and will grow exponentially, I am convinced of that,” the 61-year-old said in quotes revealed by Lazio News.
Lazio are currently top the UEFA Europa League group stage, with nine points from three games, scoring nine goals and conceding just one.
