Lazio head coach, Marco Baroni, has revealed what Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru must do to become a World class player, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old joined Lazio last summer, on loan from Turkish side, Hatayspor, with an option to buy included in the deal.
While he’s had a glimpses of what he can offer in terms of his creativity, he’s still adapting to the demands of Italian football.
Speaking ahead of Lazio’s UEFA Europa League clash against Twente, Baroni praised the former Manchester City midfielder, and mentioned he just needs to work on his mentality to become one of the best midfielders in Europe.
“Dele is a strong player who will surely explode, he must have greater mental continuity. He comes from a different kind of football, it’s not easy to get into the speed of thought of Serie A. He has the speed and physicality. He must find greater mental reactivity and think faster. He is a very participatory boy, as is Tchaouna. They are guys who need to be given time, we don’t have time and I don’t like to talk about time.
However, there is a path to follow and respect when you move to a team like Lazio with the competitions that Lazio faces, we will also have to give them time to make mistakes but I am convinced that they will be able to do their best,” the 61-year-old Italian manager said in quotes revealed by TheLaziali.
Fisayo Ayodele-Bashiru came off the bench in Nigeria’s game against Libya at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, scoring the game’s only goal in the 87th minute.
