Nigeria and Al Wehda striker, Jude Odion Ighalo, has sent a message to misfiring Manchester United midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, urging him to hit top form again, Soccernet.ng reports.
Bruno, like most of Manchester United’s players, have been sub par this season, as the club have struggled to get going under Erik Ten Hag.
However, the captain’s performances have been awful, as he picked up red cards in two consecutive games within a week. One in Manchester United’s 3-0 home loss to Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur, and the other in Manchester United’s 3-3 draw against Porto in the UEFA Europa League.
With just three assists in all competitions this season (two of those came in United’s 7-0 win against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup), the 30-year-old came under fire for his recklessness from the club’s fans, and he took to his Instagram page to pen an apology.
Ighalo, replying to Bruno’s post, backed the former Sporting Lisbon man to return to his best, and leave his run of poor games behind him.
“Form is temporary, class is permanent. We’re all with you my captain,” the AFCON 2019 golden boot winner wrote in response to Fernandes’ post.
Ighalo looks to have bonded with the Portuguese midfielder during his brief stint at the club in 2020, and the pair surprisingly combined for just one goal during their time together.
The 35-year-old striker has been in decent form for his club side, scoring two goals in six Saudi Pro League games.
