CAF confirms dates for Nigeria Super Eagles’ crucial AFCON qualifiers against Rwanda and Benin

The Confederation of African Football has officially scheduled dates for Nigeria's final two qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as the Super Eagles prepare to face Rwanda and Benin in decisive Group D clashes, Soccernet.ng reports.

CAF has set Monday, November 18, for Nigeria’s last AFCON qualifying match against Rwanda, which will take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The game, set to kick off at 5 PM Nigerian time, will be officiated by Moroccan referee Samir Guezzaz, who will be supported by assistants Zakaria Brinsi and Abdessamad Abertoune.

Kech Chaf Mustapha will serve as the fourth official, while Ghana’s Prosper Harrison Addo will take the role of match commissioner, and Somalia’s Ali Mohamed Ahmed will act as the referee assessor.

Before that, the Super Eagles will head to Abidjan for their Matchday 5 fixture against Benin Republic, scheduled for Thursday, November 14, at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny.

This match will start at 8 PM Nigerian time (7 PM Ivorian time) and will be overseen by Senegalese officials, with Issa Sy named as the center referee. He will be joined by Djibril Camara and Nouha Bangoura as assistant referees, while El Hadji Amadou Sy will serve as the fourth official.

The outcome of these fixtures will determine Nigeria's qualification for the 2025 AFCON finals in Morocco, set for December 2025 through January 2026.

With only one point needed from these two matches to secure their spot, the Super Eagles are poised to claim their place among Africa's elite teams once again.

Nigeria finished as runners-up at the last edition of the AFCON hosted and won by Cote d'Ivoire.
