Orlando Pirates defender Olisah Ndah has expressed his joy at returning to the Nigeria national team after a 31-month absence, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 26-year-old earned his call-up to the squad under the management of Gernot Rohr, although it was for an international friendly that ended in a 4-0 defeat to the Mexican side.
At the 2021 AFCON tournament, Ndah featured under Augustine Eguavoen’s guidance in their 2-0 victory, and that was the last time he played for the Eagles.
The South Africa-based defender was recalled to the squad to face Benin Republic and earned 27 minutes after replacing Fulham defender Calvin Bassey.
The defender took to his social media page to express his gratitude for his return to the squad, which ended in a flawless 3-0 victory for the Nigerian side.
“Blessed and grateful for this beautiful journey +3,” the Super Eagles defender captioned images shared on his social media page.
This marked the third appearance of the Orlando Pirates defender for the 2013 Africa Cup of National Champions and his second under Eguavoen’s guidance.
It is expected that the former Remo Stars player will make an impact for the Super Eagles when they face Rwanda on Tuesday ahead of the continuation of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
